About the Space

PAINHUB was born out of boredom, as most good ideas are. The founding editor was unhappy at their social work nonprofit job and turned to writing for catharsis.

What developed was a strong voice keen on absolutely eviscerating a wide breadth of cultural and political events, trends, and histories. PAINHUB has covered music, fashion, electoral politics, literature, visual art, and more.

PAINHUB has grown a following of leaders in various fields; from research, to literature, to academia to journalism.

PAINHUB’s critical lens is broad. No particular demographic or ideology will be or should be devoid of critique. It’s just not healthy, like !!!!!

That being said, this space’s media, programming, and publications are a work of anthropological and hopeful resolve.

There is a fundamental core of survival in most any work of PAINHUB. We believe in struggle as survival.

We hope the writers, the queers, the weirdos, the colored, the hyphenates feel this is a space that allows them not feel alone while simultaneously being educated on the world as it turns.

Annihilating the mediocre one toothy essay at a time. Truth is the substance and pain is its juice. Experimental Literature, Independent Journalism, and Creative Research Methodologies all in one place because we are intellectually slutty.
