An Update
Weekly episodic posts are making a comeback in June (everybody clap, also Happy Pride)! So, look forward to seeing me a lil more consistently. Two posts per months will be free, and two will be behind paywalls, but my goal is to have three posts per month behind paywalls by my birthday (November) sooooo might as well upgrade to paid rightttt nowwww ;) Anyway, on to the post.
Articulating spiritual matters is rather difficult to me because I don’t really use “logic”, I am simply tapped into the eternal law of this given Universe (12th House retrograde Sagittarius Mercury1). I was born with a pretty keen understanding of how this one works, and that came with a lot of disappointment. But I have to try if I want to get better, right?
On May 25th, Saturn will enter the sign of Aries for a few months, teasing us about what’s to come early 2026 through Spring of 2028. I greatly value astrology in general, so much I named myself after a planet, but I think there is an overemphasis placed on the generational planets and their role in our lives. Your personality isn’t all you are and it’s definitely not where you came from.
Who is Saturn?
Saturn is a caring father. Many online Astrologers consider it cruel, and it can be, but nothing Saturn does is for no reason; that behavior belongs to Mercury. Saturn reminds you of what you need, not what you want (that would be Jupiter). Saturn is your legacy and/or how people remember you, it is the outward perception beyond outward perception. Saturn rules Winter and therefore rations. Saturn likes nice things, but it isn’t flashy. Think The Row’s clothes. When this planet enters a house in our chart, those themes are put under a heavy duty microscope in order to be refined toward our highest personal good.
Getting to Know the Aries Archetype
Aries is the firestarter. It is the absolute baby of the zodiac. The pain of childbirth, the cry of a newborn, the cruelty of youth. Aries is sharp with intrinsic motivation and takes no prisoners. Aries energy is perfect for starting things and actually following through (unlike Sagittarius or Gemini energy), it is the energy of murder. No one does anything like an Aries until everyone is doing everything like an Aries2. It’s pioneering. The balance of initiation and structure could lead this transit to assist us in starting something in our lives, something having to do with whichever house in your chart Saturn will be transiting.
Personal Reflections
For me, this will be my first Saturn return. A year ago, I was really struggling with accepting that this time would come but, now that it’s almost here, I find myself excited. My life finally feels like it's falling into some sort of sense.
As a Capricorn Rising, I am ruled by Saturn, meaning I am very familiar with its rigid bounds and its effects on my life experience are supremely potent. In astrology, the placement of your chart ruler (the planet that coincides with your rising sign) is a key piece of data within one’s birth chart. It puts a hyper-focus on a specific area. My Saturn is in the sign of Aries in the fourth house, meaning I had to grow up pretty quickly, and my freedom is both something granted by my ancestors and something I find more with age.
Having Saturn in the fourth house of your birth chart is like walking around with a heavy wooden chest in your gut. It lightens as you walk through life and share your gifts with others, but that’s no easy feat when you're feeling grounded in the worst way, like that imposed by a father. I’d like to think having the planet of the father in the house of the mother has lead me to much of my nonbinary understanding of the world, but more than likely it just points to my mommy-daddy issue double homicide.
Notes for your Chart (based on Rising sign)
Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn): You all will probably feel this ingress most intensely. Themes will include relationships, career, roots, family, identity. The real stuff of life. Expect your style, forms of income, and one-on-one relationships to experience restriction that leads to growth. “We have food at home” vibes.
Mutable Signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces): Heavy financial themes, gains and losses, dating and friends, peripheral relationships come under scrutiny. Expect a lot of protection that may seem like loss. Some could also experience major gains of some sort, especially Geminis. All in all, it’s still a bit of a wet blanket situation. Virgos will be prepared for this, the others I am not so sure.
Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius): Focus on values and habits, more mercurial, day-to-day topics. Expect to be held accountable by the stars when it comes to your habits, good and bad. Know you won’t be confused if you pay attention. Leo risings in particular may be forced to travel more and have more alone time to heal or further lose their minds, as this transit coincides with Jupiter in Cancer transiting their 12th house beginning in June.
Hopefully this provides a little insight into the next 3 years of life, or at least an aspect of it. There’s more to Astro than any one transit; the whole sky works together like some fucked up, breathing collage. Saturn won’t beat your ass any more than it already has.
