I’m working on making lil subpages on the blog…we’ll see where this goes! Some posts will be emailed, and some (most) will just remain on the blog for the viewing leisure of whomever. There are two subsections: My Film Diary and Musings of Esotericism. I think the subject matter of each is pretty self explanatory. Expect more video and audio stuff too because writing is so hard in the winter…maybe even some music :)
Next time I do this I think I’ll just let my handwriting be known instead of processing it because this font and formatting just…. isn’t it. But, for my first diary entry, I went and saw the film Armand at a surprisingly full IFC Center Theatre Three in the West Village. I lined up with a bunch of NYU film students as we all scanned our Mubi Go QR codes1 (this is also the post where I start pining for some sort of sponsorship il ove u Mubi plssss I just want the $20/mo lol)
My intrigue from this film came from the feature of Renate Reinsve of A Different Man (2024) and The Worst Person in the World (2021), both pretty high up there in recent films I’ve enjoyed. I am still very tired, and I haven’t fleshed out the full ideas yet, but I really value process sharing, so here are my most recent notes on the piece.
media consumptions of recent:
On Essays: Montaigne to the Present
Girls Season 3
The entire X trilogy because it’s all on HBO Max nowwww
Rest well,

if u didn’t know, the membership allows you to see 1 curated film a week at like artsy theatres and even when their not great, it’s still something different. But also I’ve seen some great shit there like Rotting in the Sun, The Substance, Sing Sing, I Saw the TV Glow. Mubi is lowkey the reason I can call myself a curator. Ok dicksucking over.
